Ubuntu Connection Experience
Ubuntu Connection Experience 100 blends culture, cuisine, wildlife and real African storytelling.
About this Tour
Ubuntu Connection Experience 100 blends culture, cuisine, wildlife and real African storytelling. Guests are collected from their hotel around Hazyview and taken for an immersive village township experience in the community of Shabalala. This is no ordinary tour as nothing is staged as we venture into the village township where the basis of this tour is to have an authentic experience of daily life for a majority of Africans, to engage and explore their traditions, values and beliefs. Learning about other cultures and tribes' fosters respect and the understanding that although we are different, we are still beautiful in our uniqueness.
Guests would be expected to pick a stranger from the village willing to join the tour and become the host in the village and throughout the tour. Interesting sites include the famous baobab tree, the local shisanyama (colloquial for informal barbeque establishment), local schools, and sangoma (Traditional Healer). If we're lucky and depending on the time of the year, we may get to experience significant cultural or social events. This tour would be incomplete without meeting the colourful locals and sampling some delicious traditional beer.
16:30 pm — Guests and the stranger (soon to be the best friend) are then driven to the Kruger for the ultimate sunset experience and wildlife sightings against the beautiful setting of the African sun. Into the night, we then head to our private concession where we are met by lanterns illuminating a uniquely African spread. Guests can unwind and take in the day's events while being served around the bonfire and the real African stories begin. The evening ends at around 22:00 and guests are safely transported to their hotel.
